I get a call and everyone wants to go check out Shanghai Attica.  So I head over at 11:30, like last night.  Tonight it’s open to all, the good thing no line, as I get up stairs we walk over to the stairs to the second floor where the guard said it’s for reserved guests only.  I told him we wanted a table and the manager came over.  I said I needed a table for 5 people and she told me the table minimum was 4000 RMB.  I looked at her as if she was crazy.  Then she said we could have a table first but if someone came then we need to move.  I said fine, given the second floor has more than 10 booths; the odds were against that many coming and spending 4000 RMB.  The average bottle in Attica is about 1100 RMB. 

Shanghai Attica started to really fill up around 12:15; the club was packed with about 900 to -1000 people.  The first floor was so full they started to let lots of people upstairs.  The second floor started to pack and then came the problems; first the waiter never came back to the table to ask us if we needed anything.  It’s hard to drink a bottle on a small little glass of ice.  Then as other friends came we did not have any glasses.  I reached out and touched someone, hahaha, I called the manager to send a waiter to the table.  Then he came with the ice but never came back with the glasses. After 20 minutes I walked around the circle and went to the bar.  The bartenders were all old school from the hot spots around town.  They gave me that lost look and said sorry we do not have any more rock glasses; better yet we do not have any glasses how about a shot glass.  I took 5 shot glasses and went back to the table. 

Then I find all these guys sitting at the table, as I tried to talk to the guy and ask for my seat back he said your rude F%^k off!.  Then finally his friend was smart and said I think it’s his table, given I had 5 other friends at the table.  Then came the group of guys sitting on top of the couches and then just sat on couches we were sitting and just walking all over the couches.  I asked them if they could stop doing that and the guys just jumped up and down up and down made some faces and said just chill.  I asked if he did that at home and he said just chill, I was being nice and told him the girl is wearing white pants, don’t think she needs to sit on dirt.  The girl with him was mellower and said sorry and they moved on.  Gee, if I was shelling out 4 thousand RMB and had to put up with that.  Oh it would never end. 

The good thing is no one on the second floor made the 4 thousand min for the table.  I mean for any of the tables just a bottle or 2.  The only good thing is that this club has people, they can always pick and choose later the right crowd later at least they have a crowd.  The club started to slow down around 2; the crowd fell to 600 people by then.
